Murphysboro Main Street is a not-for-profit, community-funded volunteer group, working to promote the historical preservation, protection, and use of Murphysboro's commercial, civic, and religious enterprises and residences along our historic main thoroughfare. Our goal is the further development and promotion of culture, architecture, and public use of Murphysboro's traditional downtown area.

Murphysboro is a vibrant community currently experiencing accelerated growth and rebirth. Much of this due to the Main Street America program model for communities throughout the nation, of which we are state and national members. Persistence is paying off, renewing economic vitality, creating a unique sense of place, and strengthening our town for generations to come.
